Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Third Day) – THE SACRED HEART TEACHES US
THE DIVINE AND UNIVERSAL FATHERHOOD
Jesus has come to reveal the heavenly Father to us: No one knows the Son except the Father nor the Father except the Son and the one to whom the Son wants to reveal it.
The doctrine of the divine fatherhood is the essence of our Lord’s great message to the world, the novelty of a fact destined to change human life, to revolutionize social relations and to place them on a plane of freedom, equality and fraternity. In the thought of Jesus, our relations with the Father have a threefold manifestation: faith, hope, charity.
A little offering to the Sacred Heart:
Throughout the month of June, recite the morning offering to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Leave a copy on the bedside table or attached to the mirror in the bathroom, so that it’s the first thing you pray in the morning:
“O Jesus, I offer you through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Church, in union with the Eucharistic Sacrifice, the prayers and actions, the joys and sufferings of this day, in reparations for sins, for the salvation of all men, with the grace of the Holy Spirit, to the glory of God the Father. Amen.”

** [This novena prayer is attributed to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque who widely promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is said that St. Padre Pio recited this novena daily for all those who requested his prayers.
This novena (repeating the same prayer for nine consecutive days for a particular intention or devotion) can be prayed at any time, though it is a tradition to begin Wednesday after Trinity Sunday and leading up to the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus itself it is a tradition to pray the Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart.]
